Today's progress on the huge messpile
Jul. 22nd, 2024 08:04 pmToday I cleared out four boxes in the Disaster Room. I kept about a box and a half worth, I have just under 100 bottles of nail polish to donate, and I pitched about two boxes' worth of undonatable junque. I even widened the clean spot on the floor. Two people can now both walk into that room and stand in the middle of it and turn around without stepping on each others' toes.
But cleaning that room is still really slow going.
I need to count my clothing-stuff in the main bedroom. I need to make another run down to Goodwill. I need to mow the front lawn. But mostly I need to avoid stressing out so much that my stomach acid overflows and drips into my upper intestine again. (That shit's painful.)
Two showings today. The first group didn't like the small kitchen. I think we should have put some text in the description: "cozy kitchen in the center of the first floor" or something so that folks who want a large kitchen won't bother coming through. I mean, if people want a large kitchen, they should definitely get what they want. But there's no way, short of entirely rebuilding the house, to make this kitchen larger. Load bearing walls and whatnot. People who really want a large kitchen should know, so that they can either adjust their expectations, or just not come and view the house.
Today was cooler. Tonight is a good night for cocoa. (I can't have coffee right now, but I can have cocoa. This weekend was in the 80s, so not hot-drink weather.)
