I've heard it both ways! Foyer, that is. I'd probably pronounce it "foy-yay" if I ever used the word but my brother would wince at my inflection.
Heh, I never thought about my accent at all until age 15, when traveling somewhere through the Midwest U.S. A kid at the campground where we were staying asked where I was from, and I had to say "Maryland" several times before I realized that I was swallowing most of it.
